What to do in the Esterel massif?

Considered one of the Côte d'Azur’s most beautiful natural sites, the Esterel massif has many surprises in store for you, but also offers many sports or fun activities, for a magical holiday.

Visits, water sports, mountain sports, everything is possible in this beautiful natural setting close to the sea.

Hiking trails in the Esterel massif

The Esterel massif is a perfect for hiking. Here, breathtaking views are everywhere: pic du Cap Roux, pic de l'Ours, Cap Dramont, the list of must-see spots is long! Whether you want to hike with family, friends, if you are sportsmen or amateurs, you find THE ideal trail for you (hikes usually last between 1.5 and 4.5hrs). The "Sentier du littoral" (Coastal Trail) (11 kilometers): the sentier des douaniers to discover the Coast's wonders. Departure is in Saint-Raphaël, it is marked, punctuated with beautiful coves, and takes you to the Camp Long beach through Cap Dramont.

The "Pic de l'Ours" (Bear's Peak) trail is shorter (2.6 kilometers) but has greater elevation gain. It takes you, on a path suitable for the whole family, to the heights of the massif. It is also marked, and offers breathtaking mountain views, but also coastal cities views. Here, you must wear mountain shoes. The "balcons du Cap Roux" (Cape Red balconies): this hike is for sportsmen! A great elevation gain of 5.13 kilometers and beautiful steep paths will fill you with beautiful sensations. Going through the Col de Saint-Pilon, this magnificent walk will reward you with incredible views.

Water activities in the Esterel massif

The Esterel massif is located by the sea and lake, so there are lots of water activities to do. You can board a canoe as well as a kayak; jet skiing, paddleboarding, pedal boating, sailing, and diving. You can enjoy both quiet moments and thrills! Some examples of activities for the whole family: renting a boat without license in the Bay of Agay to discover the coves, water skiing in Saint-Raphaël, paddleboarding at Lac du Dramont, diving in Fréjus between 8 and 14 years old, kitesurfing or parasailing.

Where to camp near the Esterel massif?

Close to the Esterel massif in Agay - Saint-Raphaël, is the 4-star family campsite La Plage du Dramont. Located in an idyllic setting, in a beautiful pine forest and on the edge of the water, you are minutes away from nature. The campsite has direct access to the Dramont beach, where you can enjoy a transparent turquoise and emerald water. You can admire the île d'Or (Golden Island) and beautiful red rocks, typical of the area. Here, tents are set on large, shaded spots. Mobile homes comfortably accommodate up to 6 people and have a beautiful terrace (some of which overlooking the sea), garden furniture with deckchairs. The campsite offers a diving club and other activities, including a kids club, table tennis, sports challenges and pétanque. During high season, they also offer enjoyable evening entertainment. You can also enjoy the campsite's swimming pool, with a wading pool and extensive beaches with umbrellas, as well as its bar-restaurant which offers many appealing dishes at all hours of the day and for all tastes. You can also enjoy the access to the Dramont beach a few meters away from your rental. The campsite offers 3 direct accesses to the Mediterranean Sea, to enjoy the south's sun at any time of day!
